ABOUT ABOUT

Who doesn’t love free food and an open bar after a hard day of work? On Tuesday, Oct. 11th, come join us down at the famous Rockwood Music Hall for a fun evening of schmoozing with friends (old and new) and thoughtful discussions with Cantor Sara Anderson and Rabbi Rachael Pass around the hot topics that matter most to you. You won’t want to miss out!

RSVP for free entry.

Rabbi Rachael Pass is a queer, feminist, Brooklyn-based rabbi. She was ordained from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2021, and has her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. Rabbi Rachael has written extensively on Jewish views of abortion, creative Jewish rituals including reclaiming mikveh, the ritual bath, and feminist Jewish thought and theology. She is passionate about intersectional feminism and reading as many books as she can get her hands on.

Cantor Sara Anderson is a proud alumna and ordinee of the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Raised in Los Angeles, California, earned her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from UCLA in 2014 and her master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Mannes College, the New School for Music in 2016. At Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Sara was a Tisch-Star fellow and the recipient of the Rabbi Rick Jacobs award in Innovative Worship. She was student Cantor at East End Temple in Gramercy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sara served as a chaplain intern at Los Angeles County Hospital. She became Temple Emanu-El’s Assistant Cantor in 2022. She and her husband, Peter, live on the Upper West Side and enjoy spending time in Central Park with their dog, Olive.
